hahah.. i was a bit excited that an "izakaya" was opening up on the esplanade. wow, good eats and cheap beer!! i could not have been more wrong. it's another one of those trendy asian places popping up like mould all over the place. i went there once with my gf to see if the food was any good. $15 for ramen. ...i know, i know..paying for the atmosphere..whatever. someone also thought that having huge communal tables would be a good idea there..haha. a year later and it's still there so i guess they're doing ok.. or someone with deep pockets is bank-rolling the place.
sapporo bought out sleeman for almost half a billion right? damn.. for that much money, they'd better start selling that stuff overseas. i've seen moosehead at don quixote(kinda like a japanese walmart but compressed into a becker's). that place has got a great beer selection. the first time i had czech pilsner was from there!
