Southern Europeans (Italians, French, Spanish) tend to have smaller shoulders and waists than most Americans. I have the same sort of build. I wear a USA medium T shirt and also a medium Nalini jersey. I would be swimming in a XL jersey.
Jerseys from England and Germany run somewhat larger than southern Euro jerseys.
