Hey all:

I just bought my first road bike, but haven't yet bought shoes. I know I want shoes that look like regular sneakers versus the ones with cleats on the bottom, and I want to be able to use the same shoe when riding my mountain bike. Do my shoes have to match the pedals on my road bike? Do I have to know the make/model of my pedals when I buy shoes? Is there some price point between total crap shoe and a servicable shoe? I'm just looking for a decent all-around shoe for my fun/fitness rides. Not interested in racing or spending a ton of money.

So much to learn on this damned hobby!
