Like Anthony I had difficulty getting a stock frame to fit properly. I’m 6’5”. Rode a Lemond Tourmalet for a number of years. I was directed toward Lemond because of the longer top tube length. I then upgraded to a custom made Mondonico. The most obvious difference I can note between the custom and stock frame (because all the components, etc were an upgrade as well) is handling. The Mondonico feels as if it turns with my thought while the Lemond requires me to move all over the bike to get it do what I want. Another difference is that I can ride three hours with no post ride discomfort. For me it was worth the price and I’m riding now more than ever. Hope that helps.
