Looks like they have licensed the name. Bottecchia may have allowed their trade mark in the USA to lapse. I posted a thread a while ago about DawescyclesUSA. I can see the Windsor and Motobecane thing; they are long gone. But Bottecchia and Dawes are still going concerns (well, in the same way that Schwinn and Raleigh are: They are not owned by the original people, and the bikes are made elsewhere). Frankly, all this mark thievery is a bit much. Who wants to head to Texas and declare "your trade marks or your life knave!"
