You replaced the chain after 4000+ miles? You probably went too far on that which is probably why you needed a new cassette so early. Did you measure it for chain stretch?

What kind of wheels did you buy? I'm surprised you had problems with them unless you bought a cheap wheelset. I've had no problems with my Record/Open Pro wheels.
