The person who can fix it said it would be cheaper just to weld the lower side of a dropout to it instead of replacing the whole broken dropout. I'm thinking of 'fixing' the bike but preferable I won't.
Cost will be 30 euro (38 dollar).
Any opinions?
Hi Leunkstar, hi Lotek. I jst came back from a spirited ride on my 25 year old Visser Vainqueur, so my head is clear!
In answer to Leunkstar's poignant quetion, couple of years ago i bought a Koga like that for 25 euros (complete bike). It doesn't seem like these models are rare, so my advice is: find another one! And sell the parts you don't want.
Edit: f.i. check m'plaats: Koga Roadchamp 58 cm, with Shimano AX parts (!) for 80 euros, in Drenthe. Not too far from where you live.
