I have a soft spot for old road bikes (my first was an '84 Fuji). There's something clean and appealing about the way old road bikes were equipped and painted - the bike I mentioned was solid powder blue with yellow handlebars, and a few unobtrusive decals. Most frames nowadays are sold with big flashy names painted on them, or fancy MTV-esque designs.
Case in point, my current racing bike - '05 Croix de Fer:
And for contrast, a shot of the '84 Fuji catalog entry for my old bike. Simple, clean, sexy.
