Was that tandem orange???
We were probably behind you guys. I developed some kind of nerve pain in my sitbone area that spread up and down my leg. Nearly shot the ride in the head. Spent a good 45 minutes at the ~38 mile rest stop propped up to see if it would go away enough to continue on. We had such a good average at that point too, even though we got tossed to the side of the road by the lead tandem group. We did end up limping it the rest of the way...made it through Hell's Gate. We had a pathetic time of 6:44. Although we will look to shave an hour or more off of it next year. I say that knowing that every rally we've done so far, something has happened to cut us down. It's usually cramps, but I now have a magic potion for that.
Of the two fastest tandems out there, we saw one at a rest stop further down the road - with a broken spoke. His name is Steve...can't remember hers. They ride locally in our area. We'd like to be hella fast like them but not sure it will ever happen.
