Hey, NOS88 -- Sounds like we are kindred spirits. Try a Coleman lantern igniter on the potato gun. Fantastic way to set them off . . . my youngest son and I made a 5'x2" launcher (4" 'explosion' chamber) that sent potato chunks sailing well over 300 feet and sent the neighbors scrambling for the phones to dial 911. My son can even tell you which hair spray packs the most bang for the buck

My two sons grew up to be engineers, and I'm claiming a lot of the credit because of the silly little things like potato guns, breaking balsa wood towers, water balloon slingshots, RC airplane crashes . . . and these things keep showing up Sunday mornings when I'm doing a children's message at church. It's what keeps us young
