Yeah, it's possible that high pressure exacerbated the problem... I keep my tires at 105 psi, which is what they are rated for. I find it gives a faster ride, and my frame can smooth out the roughness. Plus, when I'm carrying a lot of cargo I can bottom out at <= 80 psi, so I try to keep it high.
