I was also thinking maybe I could just devise something to hold the wheels and attach them to the existing roof bars?
The factor roof bars run parallel to the car, so why not have two bars that are perpendicular to those and one wheel could sit on the front homemade bar, and the other wheel could sit on the back homemade bar, then somehow I could lock the wheels into place and strap the frame down with bungee cords.
