I am currently on a solo weekend bike trip along Lake Michigan. Last night there were severe thunderstorms. I had loaded my bike in the car & duffle bag of clothes. The storm took a couple of hours brewing, high winds, etc. Then the rain started pouring. The wind blew my Coleman dome tent flat with me inside. I tried to hold the tent up. Then I heard a splitting sound. A tree fell about 3 feet from my tent. I know my mother has been praying again. Today, I drove about 100 miles south, they are still predicting isolated thunderstorms. I don't think I'll ride. I'm just a little bit scared. Today is a day to lay on the beach. About a month ago, 7 people drowned in under 3 feet of water because of a rip tide. The water looked calm after a storm. Seems like the same scenerio.
