I have had that problem. They don't make handlebars wide enough? Don't want to minimize my handlebar tape. And, I have to have my speedometer/odometer and handlebar bag. So some handlebars look like a dashboard without the fuzzy animals.
One solution for a better lite mount. Performance at least sells a "Space Bar." for mounting Handlebar accessories. If you can find a place on your handlebar to mount the clamp.
