If I'm sick, I don't race. I'm not a pro so there's no reason to go out and likely do myself more harm than good. Rest, recover, and fight another day.
I learned a good lesson about the value of pulling the plug earlier this season. I had bad back cramping issues due to some set up issue at the start of a brutal and long climbing 1/2/3 race. I kept going, finished in the top ten

. I was in pain the entire time, it moved from my back into my hip. 4 months later I still have hip pain, which travels down my leg to my calf. Pinched nerve? I dunno. But toughing it out left me with chronic pain.
