Bikes: Trek 4300, Surly Cross Check

I crashed brakeless yesterday... I had replaced both wheels, but only setup front v-brakes for commute to work - I was late so left rear hanging.

On the way home in the wet I had to swerve right, up a kerb, then quickly left (the left was to avoid hitting a wall running along parallel to my vector).

Front end went up the kerb just fine. I was moving fast and needed to hop the back end up and kill speed so as not to hit the wall. When I hit the front brake the wheel hit a patch of mud ... and I was on my ass wondering what the hell just happened

I didn't hit the wall, the bike just went over and I landed on my left side. Thankfully always wear gloves commuting... And for good measure, the kerb gave me a pinch flat in the rear. 3 cheers for always bringing pump & kit!
