I use the Schwalbe Marathons - they are sturdy, seem to wear well, I like the reflective sidewall - but they are a BYTSH to mount on the rim. (I am an american, and therefore am incapable of spelling properly).

My commute is 30 miles RT, mix of urban/rural riding - no tram tracks, but several sets of railway tracks to cross.
