like i said in the "choose my new paint color" thread, old seatpost was stuck stuck stuck... i tried everything, including drilling a hole in the post and whaling on it with a slide hammer. in the end, heat was the trick. so it was a forced repaint. while i was at it, i set up ye olde buffing wheel and hit the aged cranks, replaced the sh1tty tien hsin headset with a buttery campy, changed the seat and post, and set up some new skins. oh, and went clipless. what a difference in control from skate shoes and toe clips to bike shoes and spd's... i never knew what i was missing.

fork crown was easy. paint won't stick worth a sh*t to chrome, and the crown logo was recessed enough for this trick to work. i sprayed over the whole logo on both sides, and let the paint dry to the point where it is still soft enough to scratch with a fingernail. i used a razorblade to gently scrape the paint off of the chrome. i could drag the edge right across the logo, since the logo is inset. then i used an xacto knife to clean up the edges. sounds harder than it actually is.
