Well, I have a dilemma on my hands gentlemen...
I am looking to get a new mountain bike... i dont want to spend alot of money on one bike becasue i am thinking if i can get a good mountain bike for around 400 or less, i am going to buy a good road bike as well... i have narrowed my brands down to the following and the models i am seeking following their makers.

~I know the top 3 of the Trek line I have listed are "aluminum" frame... the 820 is steel frame. i was wondering what is the main difference in these makes other than the steel and aluminum framing... are the 820's good reliable bikes? what of the other 3 aluminums?

~i was wondering the main difference between the aggreesor and the aggressor 24. they appear to be very similar... can someone clear this up for me as well as suggesting a good bike here in the GT line?

~i was wondering, like on the GT line, what is the main difference between the marlin and the marlin GS? they appear to be very similiar like the GT aggressors.... help me.
As, you all can see, I have a huge list of bikes here that i am trying to choose between. If anyone can shed some light here, though lengthy, i would greatly appreciate it.. i love bikes and i want to get the best one that i can do mountain biking on and then ride some centuries on... thats why i was looking to get a good mountain bike at a good cost and then if i didnt spend too much i was going to get a KONA dew for $399 or a GT Aggressor for road riding.
It should also be noted that the prices i listed are from the retail pricing lists, off of the brands websites.. i imagine i can get them for a little cheaper at the actual place i buy them... Help me out guys!!! i am looking for some good info and direction out of this thread as in it has taken me a long time to type it and make it look half way decent. thanks again.
