Indeed. Hopefully their actions are out of concern for your well-being, and not some subconcious "oh, poor fellow, let's give you some valid transport" agenda. The novelty is going to wear off for them after a while and they'll have to find other things to talk to you about. In the meanwhile, try not to feel too singled out. You are, after all, probably enjoying your commute much more than they are.
