My point is you keep pointing out that they left the scene which is reprehensible but IF the accident was your fault what difference would it have made for your bills etc. if the driver had stayed. Your bike would still be totalled(although maybe not impounded), your bills would still be unpaid and your teeth would still be ****ed up, AND you could have gotten a ticket if the driver told the cop thier side of the story.

Also see the thread about whose responsibility is riding safe. This is exactly where taking responsibility for your own recklessness comes in.
