The way I am taking this accident is that Adam was riding his bike, something went wrong, he lost control, tried to fix it by going into the flow of traffic and away from the intersection, and some driver came up and hit him in the inside lane. Yes, Adam got in trouble because of losing control and the accident was most likely not intentional, but the fact that it happend and the driver was too ****ing stupid to stay and help out, makes it the drivers fault completely.
bad analogy. a bike on the road is (legally and otherwise) a vehicle and takes responsibility as such. you also also forgot the drunk factor.
either way, heal up and get back out there.
