I posted this in the General forum as well:

I'll be going to Carlsbad Caverns National Park this winter with some teammates for a training camp. We chose the area because it's moderately high altitude, mountainous, closer than AZ and CA, and has a pretty nice average daytime temperature compared to our present location.

We used Google Earth and spied upon the area using that to find some PAVED roads to ride on. There appear to be a decent amount of Interstates and State Highways south and east of the Park, but nothing really in the park or around its borders.

I emailed the Park's information officer but so far no response. The maps of the park aren't helping much either.

Can anyone recommend some roads or point me to a good source of information?
I was there last year, and there isn't much around there in terms of roads. What roads you see on those maps is what you get. There is also essentially no civilization. You will need to bring everything you need. Don't expect to find a convenience store or even a house. It is beautiful, but be prepared.

Carlsbad caverns is essentially just the caves. Try exploring Guadalupe Mountains as well.
