This past weekend we hooked up with a local club and did a fully supported "credit card" tour of the Sacramento River Delta area. The family and I started out at Brannan Island State Park and rode across the delta to Old Town Sacramento, where the club had booked hotels for all the subscribed riders.

The first day on the "out" leg, we enjoyed warm temperatures, light wind, and a nice easy 56 mile spin on levee roads through picturesque farmland and vineyards. After an evening of hot tubs, pool, pizza, and a good night's sleep, we did the return leg of 53 miles following a different route back to our starting point.

This was my 11 year old daughter's longest solo ride to date. She did the full 56 miles going in, but coming back she finally wore out at about mile 35. (Still, 95 miles in two days for an 11 year old - I'm proud of her!) I flagged down the SAG wagon, and we finished up the last 20 miles in air conditioned comfort.
