I did, I could not count basketballs and look for gorillas.
But cyclists are not gorillas... and that is my point. I am trained to look for cyclists... and I see them everywhere... even on parallel streets. I also look for bouncing balls and running kids too.
Train motorists to look for cyclists et. al. and remind them. Hell, apparently some motorists can't even see trucks.
It's really not rocket science... but it is paying attention to what you are doing and not being distracted by a billion other things... which motorists let themselves do as driving is taken so lightly here in the U.S. Further, we encourage auto manufactures to include even more distractions... from cup holders to DVD players to Cellphones to GPSs, to video games... and then we turn a blind eye to the 45,000 deaths that result when motorists are not paying attention to what they should be doing... driving.
Yup, I will do what I can as a cyclist and a motorist, to watch out for others... but I expect the same from others too. Let me know when everybody is really on the same program. 'Cause it sure ain't that way now.
