THere are still the same number of trims on the front (at least with Record and Chorus. QS just decreases the amount of travel needed to cause a "click." Below Chorus the right shifters use the Escape mechanism... which totally blows. It limits the ability to dump as many gears as desired. I believe it drops two gears max.
