Awww...Tomcat, you never would have caught the "A" group, anyway! (TC's my bud, so I have to give him some shxt). There were a hundred Charter Members (200.00 for lifetime registration on the ride)in front, but as the crowd gathered, several hundred latecomers moved between the charter members and the line designating the front of the hundred milers. There were no "rule enforcers" around, but it rolled magically well over the bridge and through the parks before hitting the road. Except for the water (dipped out of a rubber trough) in Mayflower, it was DAM near perfect and the most fun I've had on a bike. Definitely the best supported ride of the few I've done. Next year, they're expanding it to allow 3000 riders and all I can say is, register early. Many locals missed the 1000 rider cutoff ( a couple of hundred mail-in made the post mark date, so there were around 1200 riders) and they won't make the same mistake next year. Ya'll come!
