I have a buddy who retired at around 45. He hit it big in the DotCom boom and is one of the few people who I know who made it out ok. He rides all of the time, voluteers at church and takes a lot of vacas with his wife now that his kids are out of the house. Not a bad life! BTW, he finished first in his class at Sea Otter Classic, (really, really big mtb event on the West Coast).
