Bikes: '70s Puch sport tourer, '90 Peugeot Success.

A few years back we still had a second LBS in town. That's where i bought my new Peugeot Success in '91. I returned from the test ride & commented to the shop owner that the rear wheel had a flat spot.

He flew into a rage & yelled, "What do you expect on a $500 bike?!" (Remember, this was 500 1991 dollars too). Round wheels, i thought. Finally i prevailed on him to switch the wheels. The bike was last year's model & he wanted it out of there.

The new Weinmann (I forget what the original was, i think Taiwanese) proved not very good at staying in true, but it was an improvement. After a few years i got a set of Mavic Reflex SUPs from Performance that have never needed trueing.
