This century gets traffic jammed w/riders I've been told - in nice weather years, 1/4 mile long packs of 300 riders and mucho accidents are common. This year= ~6500 registrants, ~2500 riders showed, estimate no more than 1500 finished the hundred. Next Oct. will opt for the nearby Water-to-Water Century tour which has several hundred instead of several thousand riders.
You share my outlook on events with large numbers of riders. PBP is the exception, of course.
