The dog's a reasonable reason. To commute longer? Hah! There are times you'll really like the short commute and it shouldn't be hard to make it longer to suit your needs on any given day anyway.
Moving costs a lot. It could more than pay for a new bike ;o)
One good thing, moving helps you clear out all your extra junk.
