Almost hit from behind at a stop sign in a residential area.
It had just rained the day before, and the roads were still wet.
I slow down, come to a complete stop, look both ways, and then I hear tires skidding and sliding behind me.

It seemed like the driver either; 1) did not notice me or the stop sign - or 2) did not expect me to come to a stop at the 4-way intersection.
Either way, I consider myself 3) lucky.
