Ok, but if I'm in the situation you quoted, rubbing with big ring small cog, wouldn't that leave my smallest cog completely useless since, logically, it would rub worse on the small ring?

As long as we're on the campy thing, I ride shimano and as long as I've been riding (1.5 years or so) I've wondered this. Why is it that you couldn't run shimano brifters with a campy FD? Does that work? Or is there something to be said for the manor in which the brifter clickshifts?
