I'll freely admit I know nothing about the late 80's American Raleigh, so I'm open to opinions from the group regarding desirability, is it worthwhile picking up (other than a bike in nice condition that can be bought cheap enough), etc. I'm especially open to opinions/reports on what the bike is worth in the current market. Since it's all original, I'd probably want to keep it in that condition, as opposed to doing a single speed, etc.
Thanks,
Look like this one?

This bike is as it came from the factory with the exception of tires and saddle. It is an aluminum main triangle with bonded steel chain and seat stays. I rode this bike for about a season and a half, and had no problems with it. Not super light at 24# but responsive enough. If you ride on rough chip seal or other rough surfaces regularly you may find the ride a little on the harsh side, but on decent surfaces it was fine for me. As far as value, I would think in good condition and ride ready, $150 to $200
