Off-the-peg bikes with hub gears

I'm doing a search for my sister-in-law who is looking for a reasonably-priced hub-geared hybrid. I thought it'd be easy - last I looked most of the big manufacturers were offering one or more Nexus / SRAM or Sturmey Archer based bikes but it seems a lot - Trek, Specialized et al seem to have reneged on the hub revolution. Can people offer any pointers beyond the overly expensive Pashly or Globe models I have been able to find? The idea is to make the bike into an 'into the town with new baby on the back' transport bike - not doing massive distances but hilly. Hubs are preferable for reliability and ease of changing but we're talking 5+ speeds not the classic English 3 speed here. I have a SRAM 7 on my folder which is great - but a Nexus 8 would also be cool. But who is fitting these to new bikes besides Dahon and Brompton at the moment.

Any pointers appreciated (And don't even mention Rohloff
