To me, the Tarmac rides just a touch more smoothly so I'd probably go with that one unless I could do a few hundred bucks better on the Madone. Beyond that, take out a quarter and give it a toss, can't miss either way.
They are $100 different in price.
Side Note: Trek does similar with their warranty. I cracked a Bonty Carbon seat post and they replaced it with a Race Lite.
