There is this rider in a bike forum calling me a poser because I want to
complete a century within 5 hours and would go all out for 40 miles at 100%
to 103% LTHR and sub 100% LTHR for the remaining 40 miles. 1 rest stop.
The first 20 miles would be warm up. I told him I normally trained in criss
cross intervals for over 30 miles in Central Park (5 laps), 1 hour and 25
minutes, and spend over 30 minutes in 100%+ to 106% LTHR. Average about 5+
minutes in 100%+ LTHR on one lap. My LTHR is 177, MHR is 193. Max LTHR
reached is 110%. He didn't believe the data and accused me of getting my
LTHR screwed up and calling me a poser, once I told him about my data. I
called him a lazy ass who rarely rides above his LTHR. He further claimed
that, according to his expertise, NO ONE can ride more than 30 to 40 miles
at their LTHR at all. Is this guy a moron or what? I know he knows ****
about racing because in a race you DO ride above your LTHR for more than 5
minutes in several successions or attacks.
