Wow did I ever have a suprise. Like Christmas.
My LBS called this morning and informed me that the replacement for my crank had arrived. He went on to tell me that they no longer had replacement cranks for that set, so they sent me an upgrade.
What I got was a brand new set of Howitzer Hussefelt cranks, including chainrings and... an upgraded bottom bracket. It is the new type with external bearings. (Shimano Hollowtech II)
I guess my choice for drivetrain stuff in the future will be Truvativ!!! I have never heard of such good service.

P.S. The inserts are pinned in place so they will not rotate
