Relatively local beers are Headstrong Pale Ale, Blackoak Nut Brown Ale, Hockley Dark. Microbrews C'est What makes good everything, Granite Brewery's Peculiar is good, but it's a family-type pub restaurant. Tons of small craft brewers around. I, too, like beer.

Mill Street is worth the trip to the brewery as the area has lots of gallerys, cool shops and restaurants when they kick you out for not buying the glass! Perhaps an Amsterdam...Steamwhistle...Mill Street tour is in order?
