I've got Jerry Springer on while working from home.
Why is it that whenever someone comes on to confess to their boyfriend/girlfriend that they've been cheating on them, why does the GF/BF always fight the other lover and not the cheater? Makes no sense to me. |
because they're weak and too afraid to confront the real problem

I can't remember if it was a bike computer or a power meter but I recall reading about someone riding around with a 20 or 30 lbs backpack for measuring some riding metric, this was way back. Sort of like riding around with a PC and massive battery to do Strava.
I do follow a guy on strava that always rides with his laptop + power brick and mobile Hotspot. He runs a security company and his job means he is always on call. But it also means he can go do 5 hour rides everyday. He picks the most boring routes, sticking to city trails in Seattle so that he can just pull off and solve the problem and be right back on the bike. I feel like that might get old after a while, but at least he is fit! |

Makes no sense to me. When they realize that the cheater is at fault then they leave. Until then they need to rationalize their decision to be with the cheater so blame everything but the cheater. I learned about cognitive dissonance in 8th grade English, of all places. Still a favorite thing, applicable in so many situations. |
Working on my bike on the porch just now, I hear the unmistakable sound of a car hitting a bicycle. Just at the end of my road. It looks very bad. Ambulances on scene now. I hope the guy makes it.
It looks like a landscaping truck pulling a trailer either hit the cyclist or ran him off the road. It's just over the top of a hill with limited visibility. |
Oh jesus. I hope whoever it is is OK :(

Went to court today.
Plaintiff stepped into traffic right in front of me without looking last June 7th. Claimed she was fine, we exchanged info, we left. 13 months later I was served with a $10,000 small claims suit. (1) She tried to submit a map of SF bike paths as evidence that I should not have been on the road. The judge told her bikes can ride anywhere cars can drive, and I later quoted CVC 21954 that pedestrians must yield right of way to immediate hazard of oncoming vehicles outside of a crosswalk, and CVC 21950 that prohibits pedestrians from walking into the path of an oncoming vehicle. (2) She submitted photos of small scrapes and bruises that did not include her face. I don't think the judge was impressed. (3) She submitted a hospital bill for x rays claimed under oath that she went the next day. I pointed out the date on the document dated 50 days later and she changed her story that her chiropractor told her to get an MRI. (4) She submitted chiropractor bills right before she mentioned her previous visits with her chiropractor, and then suggested the judge call her chiropractor to verify that she doesn't usually go every month. (5) She claimed she missed work... as an English teacher ... with no evidence of why she didn't work... 6 months after the incident... even though she included evidence of succesfully working an entire semester following the incident. (6) She claimed I race bikes so I must always be going very fast. I agreed that I race bikes and submitted Strava evidence that my commute speed was 8.7 mph. |

Hope the cyclist is okay. |
Aaron bro that's righteous. It's annoying to have to take a day off of work, but it also had to be entertaining watching the judge call BS.

Closing on our house Monday. Finally going to move out of the in laws place, and move closer to work. Looking forward to hopefully having a little time to ride, some family time in the new pool, and just getting our own space and time as a little family again. It's been nice to be able to live here, but everyone is ready to be done I think. My daughter has basically grown up with her in laws, from about 6 months until 19 months. Going to be a transition for her, but we're only 30 minutes away.

Going to ***** for a minute here...
Last night during the McGregor / Mayweather fight they showed a small segment of our Irish friend riding a bike from Gerard Cycles. This is a Seattle based company that I have a bit of an issue with. Gerard Cycles The owner is selling knock off pinarellos to people who don't quite understand the bike manufacturing process. He is just getting carbon frames from overseas and giving them (less-than-desirable at best) paint jobs. He also is the kind of guy who will show up to ride at group rides without a helmet occasionally, but that is another debate for another day. |
More.. By god, it's a good thing he fights, his pedal stroke is atrocious.

Lost my job last week. After working for the company for 13 years, things havent been the greatest for me the last few months..but ive aways done my job and get done what needs to be done when someone would ask.
Im not that upset about it actually, just worried about health insurance at the moment..and money. Didnt realize how stressed I was. Was definitely stressed about work, but I have been sleeping great this last week. So far i've had 3 phone calls about jobs. Just need to hope one (or more) of them lead to something. |
Sorry to hear that Wylde. I know you were somewhat tentative about going back to work for them instead of pursuing something more directly related to your degree. Best of luck finding something that takes you further down a career path you'll enjoy.
