Bowen also told the Bulletin that he expects to reconfigure the nature of the race routes from years past, although he would not rule out a stage with a mountain-top finish.
“I’m pretty confident that what we put together will attract riders who like to race in Bend,” he told the Bulletin. “[The mountain roads] will potentially have snowbanks, but we really feel that’s going to be a cool aspect of the race.”
Bowen also said he hopes to make changes to the fan-favoutite downtown criterium and reconfigure a more spectator-friendly version of the iconic Awbrey Butte Circuit Race, Cascade’s traditional final stage on a course that has been used for multiple national championships.

Cascade is out for 2018... but sounds like they'll shoot for 2019.

I was finally gonna give the pro/1 race a shot there, since there was only one TT & RR before the crit, and the crit is really all I wanted to do there. Damn, next year I hope!

pretty sad. however, for the population size there are lots of races every week within a short drive, so that doesn't really encourage them to go far.

historically so few guys from UT ever travel to that race. there is often lots of talk, but in many years of going i can count on one hand the number of UT racers who actually ever showed up.

There are always lots and lots of plans to travel; few materialize.

Those plans usually come to light AFTER the race gets cancelled. We had a couple get called off locally and the griping has begun. "We were gonna bring the whole team...".

Now that I live in a city with a basketball team (Sonic's disappeared when I was in elementary school..) it kinda cool to follow a team taht's doing well like this.
But Mitt is wearing the number of Stockton's son who has played, what, 15 minutes this year.. His taunting game is on point tho.
