avg. speed
I'm looking to enter some cat5 races. What kind of average speeds do any of you cat5 riders do when riding solo?

There have been a few threads on this. Go ahead and search. I'm glad you're thinking about racing!
It depends a lot on terrain, weather, etc. If you feel confident, that's all you need for your first race. I'd recommend trying some pack riding first, though. Be sure you're confident in your bike-handleing skills around other riders.

As stated above there are many factors.
But on average I would say between 20-25 mph. Take note the races are much shorter than other categories.
Also many times the Cat 5 may be mixed with Cat 4.
