Martin Luther King Classic, Last Minute Race Scheduled in Los Angeles
I thought I'd post this here for those of us in So Cal. SoCalCyling announced the Martin Luther King Jr Classic today. It's a crit race that will be on Monday morning, early enough that I can still make it to work, just an hour or so late. I'll be racing the 4/5's, hopefully getting a good start to the early season. Here's a link to the race flyer. Anyone else going??

This race happens every year. It is never publicized until a week or two before the race. It is damn early. I'm glad I get the holiday. Racing in a race honoring MLK and being right in South Central for the Kingdom Day Parade should justify my holiday. I'm just not sure if I want to start racing already. The race has better prize money than most of the local races all year.

usually the flier doesn't come out until a week after the 'race' is over.
wow! i just looked at the flier, it's an actual uscf race this year with more than one catagory.
'fith annual' good job proof reading

The race will also happen next year at the crack of dawn, on Martin Luther King day, around Leimert Park. No need to wait for a flyer.

I guess they aren't really into us older folks. Having the masters cutoff at 35+ will sure to bring out all us old dudes.

They don't have alot of categories because the races have to be over so they can start the parade. They used to have only one category. They probably also figure most older white men won't venture to south central (just kidding).
