Amazing how slow you get
Just did my first power tests (for the season and ever). 3x1 minute maximal with 3 minutes rest then 20 minutes recovery and a 5 minute TT.
Ugh.
First, 484 watts avg, second 402, third 361 and the 5 minute was 270 watts avg. I put out a higher wattage (barely) for more than an hour going up Mt. Washington, and I was burnt out and not pushing as opposed to wanting to vomit.
Goes to show you what no intensity from mid-December till February will do for you. Least my coach will have something to work with.

I dont know antyhing about watts etc. All I know is I am middle aged guy with a daughter in an expensive college and I work a lot instead of riding like when she was in a free high school, it has rained a lot in Seattle this winter, and right now I plain suck on the bike.
Good luck this season. I will be lucky to keep up on the daisy rides.
