should i inform ride organizers about chasing dogs??

there is a century coming up it will have lots of riders . along the route i already ride part of there is a farm house that has 5 big dogs that chase me and others with me every time. they are big chows etc. should i inform the organizers of this ride.

I'd inform the riders, but even more so, call the local police and find out who you should call about unleashed dogs. Most communities have a law about unleashed dogs running around, and I bet one call to the city pound and having their dogs thrown in the doggy pound.

Tell the organizers, maybe they can inform the people that live there. Also call the local police and tell them that these people let their dogs run, and there is a good chance they could endanger ALOT of people.

Yes call the organizers. The sooner the better. They should prefer any noticce, but getting it early enough that they can deal with it before the last minute rush that all events have would be much better from an organizers viewpoint.

Last year we pre-rode the course for a road race and got chased by dogs on two occassions. We email the promoter and he took care of it.

By all means tell the organizers. Even a .22 is too much extra weight to mess with carrying
