Like at the 'end of the season'. Just wondering.

I have the cash saved up to buy them now outright, but always looking to save money.

No.

I don't think Zipp makes much on their wheels, because they cost so much to produce.

The lowest I found is from R&A Cycle in New York City.

Your joking right? I think I saw the dealer cost of a Zipp 404 rim (well whatever the part number of the rim used in the 404 wheels) is like $280. So for their $1750 retail price $560 of that...at dealer cost...is $560, how much do you think the spokes run $30 for a set? Hubs? They are making plenty of money on their wheels, especially when they just about never accept a warranty claim (<--I have heard of at least 3 legit claims get denied).

this guy seems to have the "best" deals on-line from what I've seen at 1500 bucks.

Saying that even at my team deal, which is a lot better than that, they're still too much money in my book for the new ones. I've got an older set that needs the rear rim repaired after one bad manhole cover that wasn't marked in a road race.
