New race wheels (50mm Karbona tubulars with Schwalbe Durano tires). Got them glued up Friday night, let them sit, and took them for a test ride Sunday afternoon. Did not die, so hopefully all is well.

I still think it's funny how perfect it fits, i'll have to look for a perfect bike sized behind the door bicycle nook in our next house.

Ritchey WCS Classic Shallow. I love 'em. But they don't seem to work as well with Shimano as they do with SRAM or Campy.

thanks. that's even better: it'll go well with my wcs 4-axis -17 stem & i have sram. only problem is that while PBK has the 40 & 44 cm on sale, it's out of 42cm bars. i've recently begin to appreciate how the campy ergos look on classic bars with the base parallel to the ground, and as i'm not a campy man, sram would be just as good

Do you have any pictures of you on the bike?
I know it's comfort above all but depending on how new you are at this you might not have things set up all that right. Your saddle probably needs to be leveled and you need to rotate your bars as well. Mark things as they are now, then try them out as I suggested. Pick the one you like more.
If you use your hoods only and have them set up like that, then something isn't right. Your drops don't really look usable. Safely anyway.
Fwiw, I set my brake levers up so I can shift/brake on a dime when sprinting out of the saddle in the drops. Everything else falls into place if I do that. Looking at the positioning of your bars/levers as they are now, you have little to no access to the levers in the drops. That's not good!

First picture tells the tale that your back is really rounded. I would still rotate the bars to make the hoods flat, and then flip the stem. Learn to bend your elbows when you're riding, as yours are too straight.
Do you feel like your reach is too long? I think it needs to be longer over time, and you just need to learn to bend your elbows to compensate. You'll be able to do more of this as you ride more and gain fitness and flexibility.

Also, try and relax your shoulders. It will help you feel more comfortable when your elbows are bent.

you want to rotate your hips forward and relax your shoulders. This will flatten your back, and then you'll feel more comfortable bending your elbows.
This will also untense your neck muscles and allow you to keep your head up more with a flatter back, while getting lower.

Throw the stick!!!!
Damn there are a lot of good looking bikes in this thread. I really wish I had an excuse to have a race bike.

Throw the stick!!!!
I'm finally back on the bike after a very long "break". My first surgeon told me to sell all of my bikes because I wouldn't be able to ride again. So I ended up selling all of them except for my cyclocross bike and pretty much gave up. My second surgeon has gotten me to the point that I can at least ride. I very seriously doubt that I will ever race again though, my knees just can't handle the abuse.
I have gained a lot of weight and I am in the worst shape of my life. I started riding again on July 4th and I have managed to lose 13 pounds so far. I have a very long way to go though. Climbs that I used to do hill repeats on I now struggle to climb once. I am very happy to be back on the bike but at the same time it is sort of depressing thinking about how I used to ride compared to how I ride now.
I have bought a new road bike, it's an okay bike but it is nothing compared to my SL1's and some of the other bikes I had.
