Getting Late Start
Tomorrow I start my training for '07. I'm getting a terribly late start. I want to race later in the year. My guess is that it will take me 8-10 weeks to get my lungs and legs. I could be racing by June, and really flying in July. Perhaps I can have a strong 2nd half of the season....right through september. Anyway, I'm excited about tomorrow. I have done some late starts in the past and usually I am really competitive by June or early July. I have at least started eating good...and have lost about 8 lbs already. My winter peak was around 190...and I currently weigh in at 179. I'm in coastal NC...so we should have great weather coming in a few weeks. I'm looking forward to those tan lines. Oh yea, haven't shaved my legs yet. Better get that done soon.
What are you guys and girls up to?

I just started doing LT work after a fairly satisfying winter of base miles. First race is April 14th. Still have a good 8 pounds to lose to get to where I want to be, but I have until June to get there.

Terribly late start?
For god's sake, man. We've had like 2 feet of snow today over here.

Its ok though, oneradtec, I'm fat and out of shape too since school has been kicking my ass. taking four 300 and 400 level engineering classes and 2 labs is a recipe for making me work my ass off. At least you get to train...

Fortunately the big storm here tonight is sleet changing to heavy rain. That should rinse things off nicely.
