Squiggy Weekend Report
This weekend was all bike racing for me. I did the ITT and the Crit on Saturday, and the road race today. All were Cat5 races.
The ITT: This went pretty well, I did the 7 mile loop in 16:08, a 26.1 mph average. This was faster than I expected, and I managed to get 7th place with this time. I think I'm going to invest in a TT later this summer.
The Crit: This thing was brutal. There were crashes all day long, and one bad one in my race. I pulled for a good 2/3 of the race trying to break away, but I didn't have it in me and never got too far off the front. A buddy of mine later pulled off the front and got a great lead, while I blocked for him. One guy bridged on the last lap and he got 2nd by a wheel length, a bummer. I got 8th due to my lack of sprint power left at the end. All in all it was a great training crit for me, and I learned alot about cornering. I won a prime, and I got some crappy marble colored bar tape, yee haw! Merlinextralight was in this race with me, and I think he got messed up by the crash. He gave me some good tips at the end of it.
The RR: This was one of the sketchiest races I've done so far. No one paid attention to the yellow line rule, so it was impossible to stay near the front of the pack. I think I was up there about 15 different times. Someone dropped their water bottle and I hit it, but luckily I did not go down. The traffic was also really bad. Our pack was really big, and the sprint finish was up a hill. I tried to break out front too early, and got swallowed up about 20 feet from the finish. I think I ended up in the top twenty somewhere, but I don't know. Merlin was also in this race, and he got caught up in the bunch sprint as well.
Three races in a weekend has worn me out, so now I'll need some good recovery time. And, thank god I get to cat up to 4 now. Woo hoo!

did your cycle computer measure the distance around the ITT course?
the officials said it was an even 7 miles- but my Garmin had it at 6.85miles.
kind of threw off my whole finish push-
