VEGAS CROSS FTW!! ^^^^ awesome man, how did ya do? Cool kit!!! It was a blast to watch. Cyclocross just isn't too big in Vegas LOL. I would love to try it.

I had a lot of fun, but too crowded with smelly hippies/hipster/fixie folks though...LOL.

Great pic Jordan, those were fun races - and somehow you're always smiling in race pics!

Next year we should move up to the 6 pm race, it'll be even more fun.

That was a classy ride, and a win with style -
I only raced once this year, but Kira definitely hooked me up with the best cycling photo I've ever had...

CAT 4 sprint! It looks like we all (except UMD) got together to practice our sprint face before the race.

I was a 4 then...

I think most everyone in that picture is a 3 now

I'm still racing against mostly the same people

I'm such a crappy sprinter I pissed away a good position and only got 9th in that race.

Edit: damn, I thought I got 9th, I just checked the results show me 10th. Aaron got 5th.

Hi,

OK, it's not a road race but I am suffering. Turn 2, 2nd lap of a 500m TT:

Don't ask about my time. Most Juniors (boys and girls) could have beaten me.

The professional photographer, Greg Page, is a good friend of mine. He made me look fast at least.

Also, my aero position on my track bike is not correct. Been too lazy to transfer the position from my TT bike to my track bike.

You're in good position... quite a ways before the sprint...

So, what do you do?

What DO YOU DO? (you answered this correctly last season)

Hehe, this race was actually in early Feb and the race I won was a few weeks later.

Actually replaying this race in my head my position wasn't that great going into the sprint, and I only did as well as I did because it was an uphill finish, passing a lot of people on the hill but pretty much only holding position for the actual sprint.

Edit: Here is a later shot of the sprint. I'm about a bike length behind Aaron, that was the difference between 5th and 10th.

Black line!

Eh, no suffering in a 500m The hurt doesn't come on until the last lap (666-1000m) of the kilo.

Yeah, right. Tell me that again if you live long enough to get to my age (52). Of course if you live to be my age I'll be... never mind!

This is the question I need to answer early on next season.

I should have made a move much earlier. On the back side of the course I was sitting in 5th feeling pretty good. My thought was that the top 2 would die out going up the hill into the wind. I would take my chances sprinting with the remaining 2. Of course I've never actually out sprinted anyone so that was foolish thinking. I ended up in the exact position I held in the last turn.

Next season I will be; getting in a break OR coming out of the last turn in 1st or 2nd position OR helping teammates and sitting out the sprint.

Two track nats suffer photos:

1) start of the last lap of the 30k points race. Two guys off the front, I'm third wheel. Caught one of the guys off the front, took 2nd in final sprint behind my teammate (sitting 2nd wheel).

2) Somewhere near the end of the 4k pursuit. Worst event ever.

I wasn't suffering yet, but I was getting ready for it. This is ~30 seconds into the 112 mile TT I did last weekend.
